Kavo Diagnodent Laser Pen - Early Decay Detection
When decay develops on the surface or between teeth, it can take a while for the cavity to be detected by x-rays not too mention the naked eye. Using the Kavo Diagnodent Laser Pen , we can detect cavities well before they begin to show with conventional methods. We can then treat the cavities in their smallest form – minimising the loss of tooth structure and any weakening of the tooth.

HoyaConbio Versa Wave Hard & Soft Tissue Laser - An alternative to the Traditional Drill
When cavities are detected early and are in their smallest form, using traditional drills in treatment would remove too much tooth structure and significantly weaken the tooth. Utilising the HoyaConbio Versa Wave Hard and Soft Tissue Laser (the same laser as seen on Channel 9 news), we can clean the cavities without over removal of sound tooth structure while preserving the integrity of the tooth.

Additional Benefits:

• As Lasers do not come into direct contact with your teeth, patients experience less discomfort than treatment with the traditional Drill.
• The sound and effects usually felt during drilling do not occur with Lasers.
• Lasers kill all bacteria in the vicinity of the cavity creating a sterile surface to begin treatment.
• Lasers create a better surface for the bonding of white (tooth coloured) fillings – which will lessen the chance of decay re-occurring.
