Porcelain Veneers are probably the most aesthetic means of creating a more pleasing and beautiful smile. They are thin, tooth coloured porcelain shells that are custom made to bond to the front surface of your teeth. Porcelain Veneers require a minimal amount of tooth reduction and are, therefore, a more conservative restoration than a crown (capping). It is important however that the underlying tooth is strong, healthy and not heavily filled. Preparation and Laboratory work will usually take approximately one week for Porcelain Veneers. Between your preparation visit and the insertion visit, most patients will not require a provisional restoration. Usually Porcelain Veneers do not necessitate the use of a local anaesthetic.
